Mission Statement

The mission of Friends of Jazz is to assure the continued growth and development of Jazz performance, appreciation, and education. To accomplish this, Friends of Jazz works in conjunction with area educators, arts organizations, government officials, and independent jazz promoters to support and produce jazz concerts, workshops and clinics, performance opportunities for jazz students, and other special events.

Friends of Jazz is a non-profit, volunteer organization dependent on individual and corporate sponsorship. Through this support, the organization's goal is to present jazz programming that is economically accessible to residents of the surrounding community and is designed to increase awareness and appreciation of jazz and its established and rising artists.
